Artist’s Statement
Cornelia Grondahl is an artist who has worked in many media. She particularly enjoys the beauty and versatility of paper. In her lyrical paper sculptures, embossed prints, and cards, she is intrigued by the play of light and shadow.
She is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University (BFA) and the University of Iowa (MA). She also studied at the Art Students League and New York Studio School, both in New York City. She has exhibited her work in galleries in New England and at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle, Washington.
From 1991-95, the Museum of Modern Art in New York published her die-cut card entitled “Dove”. Her cards have also sold at the Boston Society for Arts and Crafts, the Museum of Arts and Design in New York, The Audubon Society, and Shaker Museums in New England. For several years she was a state-juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen.
